For half the cost of the shop diagnosis fee, I figured this code reader was worth a try.Use couldn't be simpler - find the OBD-II port under the dash, turn the key to the "on" position, plug the code reader into the port, and press the "read" button.
It only took a couple of seconds to read the codes and tell me why the check engine light came on.
Build quality seems to be pretty good.The cord appears to be heavy duty and the plastic housing seems sturdy.And the LCD screen is backlit to make it easy to read in the dark.And to top it off, the price was a lot less than having a shop read the codes.Now I can read any code that comes up on any of my cars!
